With a deep-rooted passion for psychology and over 12 years of professional experience, I have dedicated my career to supporting individuals across different age groups in their mental health journeys. I completed my graduation from Bethune College and pursued a Master's degree in Psychology from the University of Calcutta. Additionally, I hold Postgraduate Diplomas in Cognitive Behavioral & Existential Counselling and Rehabilitation Psychology from the University of Calcutta. I have also completed a Foundation Course in Dance & Movement Therapy from Pradip: Centre for Autism Management and am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Psychology.
Over the years, I have worked extensively with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and Intellectual Disabilities (ID). My core areas include early intervention therapy, functional academics, behaviour therapy, parent management training and group therapy. I also provide counselling for adolescents and young adults experiencing anxiety, depression and OCD.
Professionally, I have been associated with the Institute of Neurosciences Kolkata, Akash Institute and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) as a Consultant Psychologist and Student Counsellor. Alongside clinical practice, I have taught Psychology at Basanti Devi College and Amity University Kolkata, mentoring future mental health professionals.
My approach combines evidence-based therapeutic methods with empathy and creativity to help individuals achieve emotional wellbeing and an improved quality of life.
Md Sahidul Arefin is a highly respected Audiologist and Speech-Language Pathologist, renowned for his pioneering work in communication and hearing health. He completed both BASLP and MASLP from the prestigious West Bengal University of Health Sciences and later earned his Doctoral award in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology.
He holds internationally recognized fellowships and certifications in Autism Spectrum Disorder, Oral Placement Therapy (USA), Picture Exchange Communication System (USA), and Laryngectomy Rehabilitation (Netherlands), enabling him to provide globally validated therapy solutions.
An accomplished researcher, academician and author, he has published numerous research papers, authored books and serves as editor and reviewer for leading scientific journals. His evidence-based and compassionate approach has positively influenced patients and professionals alike.
Currently serving as the Joint Secretary of the West Bengal Branch of the Speech and Hearing Association of India, he actively promotes ethical practice, inclusive healthcare and professional excellence. His outstanding contributions have earned him prestigious recognitions including the Bengal Business Samman, Bango Shrestho 2024 and the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar International Award.
