• Establishing house rules, structure and consistent routines
• Learning to praise appropriate behaviours (praising good behaviour at least five times as often as criticising bad behaviour) and ignoring mild inappropriate behaviours (choosing your battles).Using appropriate commands
• Using “when…then” contingencies (withdrawing rewards or privileges in response to inappropriate behaviour)
• Planning ahead and working with children in public places

Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists help people across the lifespan participate in the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday activities (occupations). Common occupational therapy interventions include helping children with disabilities to participate fully in school and social situations, helping people recovering from injury to regain skills, and providing supports for older adults experiencing physical and cognitive changes.
Special Education
Special education refers to a range of services that can be provided in different ways and in different settings. Special education is tailored to meet the needs of students with disabilities. The services and supports one child receives may be very different from what another child receives. It’s all about individualisation.
Language & Communication Programme
Early remediation of language and communication deficits in children with ASD is important as research has provided evidence that they could improve in these skills when being given the suitable guidance .The teaching of language and communication skills to children with ASD requires a thorough understanding of their characteristics and deficits, and also a detailed planning of the teaching protocols. In places where multi-disciplinary supports for children with ASD are available, team approach improves communication.
